1964 Main Title in Spanish

A whole new vista

This new version, supervised by Edmundo Santos, replaces almost everything from the previous first Spanish version. Song lyrics, dialogues, actors, and even the main and closing titles. Indeed, the opening title now reads “Blanca Nieves y los siete enanos”, as the prop storybook already did, since the film was known by that name in most Latin American countries. However, when the book opens, a narrator now reads a different text aloud, which creates a rather bizarre experience.

Each dwarf is still called by his original English name, although Snow White translates the name into Spanish when she guesses it.

This dub was broadcast worldwide in all Spanish-speaking countries, even in Spain and the USA, until 2001, when new versions were recorded. Lupita Pérez Arias’s lawsuit against the Disney company may have something to do with this.

This version is available in VHS and Laserdisc in several countries.
