Even outside the Walt Disney studios, from the release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to the present day, the film has been a source of inspiration and, within the limits of copyright, characters or plot points are evoked in many subsequent competing productions. In fact, few adaptations of Grimm’s fairy tales escape the influence of the animated film altogether.
