In The Film Daily of June 16, 1938, an article announces the hiring of Pinto Colvig by Leon Schlesinger to work on Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies. “Pinto was with Disney for six years.”
Indeed after he voices Grumpy and Sleepy, this clown and famous voice of Goofy left the studio and created the part of Gabby in Paramount’s first feature Gulliver’s Travels, the voice of Bluto in the Popeye cartoons, and much more. He soon came back to the Disney studio.
Pinto was also a story artist for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and he joined Adriana Caselotti in studio tours to promote Disney films. They even did a short film together called Hobo’s Lady.
