Find on this page the posters of different sizes used to promote the film during its successive releases in Brazil.
1938
In 1938, Snow White was released in Brazil through Radio Filmes (RKO). Gustaf Tenggren’s design is used on this poster, with the RKO logo placed at the bottom. The text reads: ‘Walt Disney presents the Brazilian version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,’ ‘Will there ever be another work of art like this?,’ and ‘Please note: Free admission has been suspended, except for holders of official, press, or “special” passes.’
1977
In 1977, Snow White was re-released by Cinema International Corporation. The poster features the tagline ‘Still the fairest one of all’ and clearly indicates that the film is presented in Portuguese.
1987
In 1987, Snow White was re-released by United International Pictures for its 50th anniversary, a milestone clearly acknowledged on the poster, despite a design very similar to the 1977 version. A new tagline is added alongside the previous one: ‘Gold Jubilee of a masterpiece.’ Once again, the poster specifies that the film is ‘a cartoon in Portuguese,’ and this time also notes: ‘No censorship.’
1992
In 1992, Snow White was re-released in Brazil, with Warner Bros. serving as distributor. The poster features the simple tagline ‘A Walt Disney classic,’ and introduces the Dolby Stereo logo. The visual matches the one used for this release in most countries around the world.
