The sequence is short, but heightens the tension while clarifying the Queen’s plans: disguised as an old peddler, she repeats aloud to herself what she intends to do: surprise Snow White alone. In addition to the viewer, the witnesses to the scene with whom we are introduced here are two vultures, animated with just the right blend of humor and the macabre to underscore the character’s grand guignol aspect. From now on, they will follow her, like the image of death the Queen wishes to spread.
The animation of scene 3 in this sequence is actually the same as scene 13 of sequence 9A when the hag walks into the distance.
