The film ends with the famous book closing, and then, after a fade to black, the final card appears. But this end title card has evolved considerably over time and in different countries. For its original release, it included the RKO logo and had to be replaced by another evoking only Walt Disney productions, in addition to the inevitable words “The end”. Naturally, the book is also translated, although few countries can claim to have benefited from the camera’s backward movement as the book closes: most translated books were filmed in a fixed shot. But in Spanish and French, the book did indeed close.
The end titles had no sequence number per say during production. It has been added here in succession with previous sequences. Explore this brief but important sequence here.
