Snow White – An Enchanting Musical

A theme parc musical

“Snow White — An Enchanting Musical” is a musical piece, designed to be performed in the Fantasyland Theater in Disneyland, which condenses the film’s story into 30 minutes. The stage is dominated by a giant magic mirror whose slave appears to tell the story, which surprisingly begins with a duet between the dwarfs going to the mine singing “Heigh Ho” and Snow White singing “Whistle as you work” to her animal friends as she works at the Queen’s castle. She then segues into the song “I’m Wishing” by the wishing well. A traveler, the Prince, overhears her and engages her in conversation. The Queen learns from the mirror that she is no longer the most beautiful. As the Prince sings “One Song” to the young girl, the Queen orders her huntsman to dispose of her, but he is unable to do so. After escaping into the forest at night, Snow White finds the dwarfs’ cottage and decides to clean its interior, singing “Whistle as you work” once again. The dwarfs come in singing and adopt her, then go and wash their hands while singing. But the Queen has not said her last word.

In this version, Snow White keeps her rags on for most of the show, only changing to her more traditional costume for the final scene. The Queen does not fall from a rock, but from the tower of her castle.
