Freddie, Sonny and the Clubmen
This French pressing of an American record was issued by Brunswick Records. While most of the label text appears in English, the catalog number and legal notices are in French, clearly indicating it was “made in France.” The recording itself is identical to the American Decca Records release 1632 A—the second of two Snow White discs recorded by Freddie Rich, who is credited here as Fred Rich.
He and his orchestra are joined by a “vocal chorus” on “Heigh-Ho,” which, according to the DAHR database, is actually the Clubmen. They would go on to record additional Snow White sides with Frank Luther just a month later (Decca album K. 17).
The vocalist on “Some Day My Prince Will Come” is Sonny Schuyler, who adopted the name Sunny Skylar two years later. Interestingly, he performs alternate lyrics tailored for a male singer—ones that never actually include the song’s title (“Some day I’ll find my love, Someone to call my own…”).
