Despite a more up-tempo reprise of the song ” Someday My Prince Will Come ” and a seemingly festive atmosphere when Snow White bakes a pie with the help of the animals, a threat remains perceptible, materializing with the sudden arrival of the Queen in disguise. The young girl is startled and speechless, stammering her answers to the old woman’s interrogation.

The animals, spurred on by the presence of the two vultures, sense the threat and try to chase away the apple peddler, who takes advantage of the pity she inspires to enter the cottage.

This sequence required two adaptations in the foreign versions: the inscription “flour” on the flour pot had to be erased, and a new animation had to be made when the birds write “Grumpy” with the scraps of pastry on the pie. For all versions, the birds draw a swirl instead. Only the French version is graced with a specific animation that faithfully translates Grumpy with the word “Grincheux”.
