This large format hardcover book was released in the United States in 1937 by Harpers & Brothers. Soon, the second printing was taken over by Grosset & Dunlap. The book is also adapted in Great Britain with another cover by Collins. It was reprinted by Harry n. Abrams Inc. in 1987 for the 50th anniversary of the film. According to the original Campaign book, this book sold for $2.00.
The Illustrations
There are some characteristic illustrations by Gustaf Tenggren, and all the rest are by Tom Wood. Most of the illustrations in this book will be reused in all media in more or less adapted versions through the decades.
