This book is a French adaptation by Michel Manière of a 1988 American publication (ISBN 0-517-66196-9), originally issued by Crown Publishers, Inc. and published in France by Hachette. The American Disney Animated Series was renamed Walt Disney Cinéma for the French market and included titles such as The Jungle Book, Bambi, Pinocchio, The Fox and the Hound, and others, as listed on the cover.

The title is simply Snow White, and the story follows the film fairly closely, although a few events have been rearranged. For example, the Queen’s transformation is moved to a point after the bedroom scene but before the dwarfs’ washing sequence.

The credited illustrators most likely worked on adapting the artwork for this French edition, as the illustrations themselves originate from the American book.
