This 4-page catalog was printed to promote the products sold for the 1938 winter holidays in the Aux dames de France department store located at 40 to 48 rue Saint-Ferréol in Marseille. In 2021, after having been the address of Galeries Lafayette, it is now home to a Boulanger store. In the December 4, 1938 edition of Le Petit Marseillais, an advertisement takes up the visual of this catalog, and states that “the most beautiful and spacious toy exhibition” will be held on the third floor of the store from December 5.
In addition to classic period toys (dolls, baby carriages, fire trucks), there are Snow White books such as the Hop-là album or the Hachette history book, as well as Mickey books. Postcards and blotters with the same illustration as the catalog cover were distributed.
