Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (LLP-310F) 1977

See, Hear and Read Again

This reissue features the original 1967 recording under the same catalog number, LLP-310 F, but with new cover artwork. The names of voice actors Claude Nicot and Anna Gaylor now appear on the cover, whereas they were absent from the original 33⅓ rpm edition. Curiously, Monique Martial, although credited on the record label, was not given the same prominence.

Another notable difference is that this edition was now available exclusively as a 45 rpm record.

The legal deposit marking, “5-20-2-77,” suggests that this reissue dates from February 1977, although its exact release date cannot be confirmed.

However, the 1979 Le Petit Ménestrel promotional catalog reveals that the original 33⅓ rpm edition, recognizable by its green cover, was still being marketed at the time, despite the introduction of the new 45 rpm version. The same adaptation was also available on audio cassette under catalog number DB 901 F.

By contrast, the 1983 catalog features the new cover artwork, confirming that it had replaced the original design in the publisher’s promotional materials.
