Copying a classic
This album, consisting of two 78 rpm shellac discs, presents the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in four parts, narrated by Olga Nobre. The discs are housed in a green-and-red sleeve featuring the heads of the title characters arranged in a circle that echoes the shape of a record. At its center are two bells surrounded by holly, creating a festive design.
This release is a re-recording of the script previously used for a 1948 Continental record set. Most of the original cast returned for the new production, joined by different actors portraying the Magic Mirror and the dwarfs. The recording also benefits from noticeably improved sound quality.
The back cover lists the cast, as well as the adapter and conductor. Beneath this information are the lyrics to the songs featured on the recording: Com um sorriso e uma canção (With a Smile and a Song), Uma canção (One Song), Eu quero… (I’m Wishing), and Eu vou, eu vou (Heigh-Ho).
