Soundtrack of another record
1962 was a particularly busy year for Snow White merchandise in France, as the film was re-released in a new dubbing. While Lucie Dolène, the new French voice of Snow White, recorded her own album (PRC 316), it was the songs on the present album that enjoyed the widest and most lasting distribution.
Indeed, these are some of the music and songs used in the ALB58 album, released the same year, in which Dany Robin tells the story of the film.
Snow White sings here with the voice of Christiane Legrand, sister of composer Michel Legrand and friend of Lucie Dolène, and the Prince sings with the voice of Jean Cussac, the new voice of the same character in the film too.
The album was reissued in a condensed version in 1973 (VS 623 F), and the songs have been included in several book-discs over the years, such as LLP310F, LLP314F and others.
They were also used in the USA in 1963 on the album Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in French and English (DQ-1237).
