Here, Snow White deciphers the name of each dwarf on her bed: it was therefore crucial, at least in the shots where she speaks – scenes 5, 6 and 8 – to see the names in question on screen in the language in which she pronounces them. Each foreign version prepared at the time therefore benefited from specifically adapted scenes. To save time and money, however, some layers of celluloid were removed from these foreign versions, which meant fewer animals in the shot.

On the final draft, between scene 9 and 12, and contrary to convention, each scene no longer necessarily corresponds to one shot, but potentially to several ones interspersed with others. In this scene, for example, Snow White yawns, but the shot in which she lies on the bed is preceded by a shot from scene 12, in which the rabbits yawn, a scene that ultimately counts as three shots in the final cut.
