Mr. Snow White

Ham Luske was identified by Walt Disney as one of the few people in the studio who could draw a believable human character. He had previously animated the Mae West caricature in Who Killed Cock Robin? and had been working for the studio since 1931 so he naturally took charge of the main character of the feature. Two teams shared responsability for the animation of Snow White: Ham’s and Grim Natwick’s, although Hamilton Luske, as a supervising animator, had final say and reanimated several scenes originally assigned to Natwick.

Hamilton Luske went on to direct many of the most famous features at the Walt Disney studio, where he remained until his death.

Ham was probably the nicest guy that ever lived.
